Vneshekonombank - Bank for Development and Foreign Economic Affaires

VNESHEKONOMBANK – is a specialized state bank of Russia. Its full name is STATE CORPORATION “BANK FOR DEVELOPMENT AND FOREIGN ECONOMIC ARRAIRS (VNESHECONOMBABK)”. The head office of the bank is situated in Moscow.

The bank was established in 1924. The Russian Government possesses 100% of the bank’s shares. The Chairman of VNESHECONOMBANK is Vladimir Dmitriev.

VNESHECONOMBANK acts as an agent for the Government of the Russian Federation in managing Russian foreign debt, levying creditor indebtedness of the former Soviet Union, managing Pension savings funds, foreign financial assets and granting credits and guarantees to Russian exporters. The bank also supports Russian industrial exports, infrastructural projects and PPP, participates in national projects and promotes economic development of Russian regions.

In the end of 2004 total assets of VNESHECONOMBANK amounted to 147, 5 billion rubles, the amount of principal receivable equaled 1 billion dollars. The bank’s income in 2004 equaled 4,35 billion rubles, its net worth at 1 January, 2005 amounted to 11,24 billion rubles ( a 27% increase during the year).
